The Games of PS4: Part One

Prior to Sony’s E3 conference, I heard lots of gamers predicting the normal launch of exclusive game titles. Many people assumed that the launch line up would consist mainly of God of War, something Little Big Planet/Media Molecule related, Uncharted, Killzone, & Infamous. While PlayStation gamers were shown new Killzone and Infamous games, there were mostly new titles announced. Here are some of the titles you can expect to see available for pre-order:

The Order 1886

The Order:1886 was shown at E3 and at first I didn’t really care. The setting was foggy with horse drawn carriages and I was thinking oh a Victorian period piece. Blah. Then we saw soldiers started using guns that looked like they might’ve come from the mystery box on Call of Duty’s zombies mode. Ray gun or Wunderwaffe anyone? I’m mildly curious to see what this game is all about. If you are a history buff, then this game could be interesting as the game states it is re-writing history in this new Sony exclusive.

Watch Dogs seems to be the game that had everyone talking at E3. This is an open world game where the main character is equipped with a phone that allows him to hack and create chaos or choose to be stealthy as you take over the city and seek revenge on those who hurt your family. It was also mentioned that friends would have the option to “hack” into your game while playing it. I am not sure how I feel about this because my friends are loveable assholes and they won’t be able to resist!

Knack ps4

Knack is a 3-foot tall hero who can grow to become much larger and more badass sizes with the collection of ancient relics. The gameplay was shown off quite a bit and this looks like a cute, fun-everyone, adventure game. I hate to compare it to other games, but it did make me think of Ratchet and Clank, which was a game that I personally didn’t think I would enjoy, but was cute and a lot of fun to play. I hope that Knack can have that same loveable charm. This is of course a PlayStation exclusive.

Thief ps4

Thief is an open world game that allows you to choose your own path as you use stealth to move around a city that is on the verge of a revolution. This game makes me think of the Thieves Guild quest line in Skyrim! Put on some dark sexy armor and sneak through the night and snatch some loot!

Dropping all your cash on the console and won’t have a lot left to spend on games? Sony will have some free to play games while you repair the damage to your bank account.
DC Universe Online, Blacklight: Retribution, and Warframe will be free to play on PSN . For the racing fans, DriveClub will not only be available at launch, but Sony has also announced that this PS4 exclusive will be free for Plus subscribers.

This is just a tiny portion of the games that Sony has in store for PlayStation gamers. In addition to these titles you can expect the familiar titles as well with Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, & more.

    1. I’m actually excited for Watch Dogs more, but I do agree The Order 1886 does look enticing can’t wait to see more from that.

  1. I won’t lie, I am actually now more interested in The Order than I am Watch Dogs. I love getting bits of history through out a game.
